This throwback layout is one of those where the photo isn’t the best, there’s nothing special about the papers or embellishments I used, and there’s no journalling. It’s one of my favourites though.
This takes me back in time to one of the best days, on one of the best trips I’ve ever taken, and that kind of memory refresher is the biggest reason I scrapbook. The photo was taken in Rovaniemi, Finland, in the workshop of Irene and Ari Kangasniemi. This husband and wife make the most amazing Sami traditional handicrafts. They open up their workshop so that people can watch them work, learn about Sami history and culture, learn about the natural world of Lapland, and even learn first hand how to work with leather, horn and wool in the traditional ways. Their workshop is called Hornworks, and you can find out more about it here.
